Why this page exists

SkipperCity is a trading name of Blackbird One Ltd., a company registered in Gibraltar. It is the company every invoice names and every bank transfer for a charter is made to – so this page publishes its details in one place you can check an invoice against before you send any money.

How paying for a charter works

When you put a boat under option, your booking page and the confirmation email show the price, the payment plan the charter company sets – usually a first instalment now and the balance a few weeks before the charter – and both bank accounts above. You can pay by bank transfer at the quoted price, or by card in the site’s checkout, which adds 5 %. Our booking terms set out the rest, and the insurance and deposit guide explains the security deposit, which is a separate matter settled with the charter company at the base.

FAQ – payments and company details

Why do I pay Blackbird One Ltd. and not SkipperCity?

SkipperCity is a trading name of Blackbird One Ltd.; the company is the legal entity behind it, so invoices and bank accounts carry its name. A transfer to Blackbird One Ltd. is a payment to SkipperCity.

Which of the two accounts should I use?

Either works – pick the one your bank can reach. The EU account takes SEPA transfers only, which suits most banks in the euro area and the wider SEPA zone; the international account takes SWIFT transfers only and is not reachable by SEPA. Sending a SWIFT payment to the SEPA account, or the other way round, will not arrive.

Which currency, and who pays the bank charges?

Euro only, and the transfer charges are yours: ask your bank to send it with charges paid by the sender (“OUR”). A transfer in another currency is converted by the banks, and one sent as “SHA” or “BEN” has fees taken off on the way – either can arrive short and leave the instalment underpaid.

What should I put in the payment reference?

Your booking reference – it is on your booking page and in every email about the booking – or the charter company's option or booking ID. Without it, a payment can take days to match to your booking.

How do I show that I have paid?

Email the transfer confirmation to info@skippercity.com with your booking reference in the subject. If a payment deadline is close, send it straight away so we can pass it to the charter company in time. A SEPA transfer usually arrives the next working day; a SWIFT transfer can take three to five.

Can I pay by card instead?

Yes, in the site’s checkout and from your booking page; card payments add 5 % to the amount. Nobody from us will ever ask for your card number by email or on the phone.

Is my charter contract with Blackbird One Ltd.?

No. The charter contract is with the charter company that owns the boat; Blackbird One Ltd., trading as SkipperCity, is the agent that books it and takes the payments for it. The booking terms explain who is responsible for what.
