ACI Marina Split fills the western corner of Split harbour beneath the wooded Sustipan headland, shielded from southerly swell by a rock breakwater and looking across to the city and Diocletian's Palace. The seafront promenade starts at the marina, and the old town is around 2 km on foot. It is a lively city base, with the busy ferry port close by for island connections.
Marina information checked Sep 2026.
ABA VELA is a family-owned charter company that has been operating from Split since 1996. The same local team owns, maintains and runs the boats, handling check-in and support directly at its base in the city's marina. Guests can charter sailing yachts or catamarans bareboat, with a skipper, or with a skipper and hostess.
ABA VELA runs 16 boats in our catalogue. Tonkica sails from ACI Marina Split, where the whole fleet is based.
Fleet figures are counted from our catalogue of the charter companies' boats. Company information checked Sep 2026.
A free, non-binding option holds the boat first; nothing is charged until you confirm. Choose a week above and the charter company’s payment plan for it — the instalments and their dates — appears here and in the price breakdown.
Contact our customer service at +386 40 873 520 or via email at info@skippercity.com. We will assist you immediately.
The security deposit is a refundable amount the charter company holds during your charter to cover possible damage. You leave it at the base at check-in — usually as a credit-card pre-authorisation or in cash — and it is returned at check-out if the boat comes back undamaged.
For a bareboat charter you need a skipper licence recognised in Croatia and a VHF radio certificate. The charter company checks both at check-in — there is no licence check when you book online. No licence? Add our skipper in the extras below: priced by the week, plus their food on board.
Obligatory extras are listed on this page and are paid before arrival or at the base, as marked. On top of the charter price, budget for mooring fees outside your home marina, fuel and provisioning. The refundable security deposit is separate and is returned after check-out.
Check-in for Tonkica is from 17:00 on the day your charter starts, and check-out is by 09:00 on the day it ends. The charter company’s rule for this base: “The boat must be back in the marina one day before /in the afternoon at 17h”
Tonkica is owned and operated by ABA VELA, an independent charter company with 16 boats in our catalogue. We act as your charter agent: you book and pay through us, and ABA VELA hands the boat over at the base.
